Scandinavian Vintage Casserole Set in Pine Green - Eystein Sandnes Askeladden crockery
Beautiful streamlined mid-century modern ceramic casserole set with metal handles. Museum quality pieces designed by well-known ceramics artist Eystein Sandnes. To the best of our knowledge, we have discovered this set was manufactured in 1964 by Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik for the Askeladden crockery line with these exact pieces referred to as “Cinderella”.
Sandes, a Norwegian-born artist, has designed several breakthrough pieces throughout his career and can be seen in several Scandinavian design archives and museums across Europe, including the National Museum of Norway.
This porcelain bakeware set comes in three different sizes of casserole dishes to cover all your baking needs. It is a very minimalist design intended to be functional and beautiful enough to go from oven to table. We also think they look gorgeous stacked if you want to display them.
Each piece is stamped on the bottom with the maker’s emblem, “Porsgrund - Norway.”
Excellent condition inside and out with minimal aging to the metal handles. See photos for the best details.
