Mid-Century Sascha Brastoff Teal Ceramic Trio - Hand-Painted Horses & Gold Details - Collectible Signed Pieces
This stunning trio of artisanal ceramics is crafted by the renowned mid-century artist Sascha Brastoff. Brastoff, a gay artist whose personal life was often a subject of controversy in his time, channeled his experiences into his whimsical and distinctive creations. Despite the era's attitudes, his work gained prominence thanks to patrons like Zsa Zsa Gabor, who helped shine a light on his unique pieces in Los Angeles. Brastoff's showroom became a hub of success, producing some of today's most iconic and collectible designs.
This set features three teal-glazed pieces, each adorned with hand-painted horses and gold details. Included are an egg catchall, a square eight-ridge cigarette holder, and a fish-shaped tray. Each piece is signed "Sascha Brastoff" with his signature rooster trademark and is individually numbered: the egg is U44A, the ashtray is 05, and the fish tray is 69.
