Kimberli ROth

Creative Director

As Founder and Creative Director of CLAY+CODA, Kimberli — a self-taught photographer and design historian — shapes the creative pulse of everything we do, from the objects we curate to the narratives we build around them. With a deep reverence for heritage style and a sharp editorial eye, she leads with a rare blend of precision, rebellion, and soul. Kimberli is the architect of our creative vision, guiding both team and community with curiosity, clarity, and an unwavering belief in thoughtful, art-driven living.

Madison Van Der Lingen

Assistant Director

Second in command and effortlessly in control, Madison helps steer the CLAY+CODA ship with clarity, creativity, and her signature warm-hearted weirdness. She leads our events, web shop, and day-to-day operations with a keen eye and steady hand. An award-winning fashion designer in her own right, Madison brings bold perspective and refined instinct to our campaigns, styling, and brand expression — keeping CLAY+CODA sharp, spirited, and just the right amount of strange.

Trevor Moss

Product Manager

A founding partner of CLAY+CODA, Trevor brings story, structure, and strategy to our ever-evolving collection. With years of logistics expertise, he oversees in-house sourcing, product distribution, and the careful global shipping of our rare artifacts. Trevor has been instrumental to CLAY+CODA since day one — and is also the face of our diffusion brand, Trevor’s Modern Life, where his eye for modernism and detail continues to shape our extended vision.

Ashlyn Quintana

Intern

Ashlyn is the extra set of hands that keeps CLAY+CODA running smoothly. A dedicated and thoughtful customer service provider, she ensures every interaction with our brand feels warm, personal, and intentional. Behind the scenes, she helps keep our systems organized and our team on track. As one of our in-house models, Ashlyn also brings a unique front-facing perspective to our work — reminding us to stay rooted in care, creativity, and the human side of design.

Tintype photography is a 19th-century image-making process that captures portraits on metal plates, creating one-of-a-kind photographs with haunting depth and raw, enduring beauty. Known for its moody tones and rich textures, the method uses a direct-positive process where the image is developed immediately on a coated piece of metal — no negatives, no duplicates. It’s a slower, more intentional way of seeing.

The portraits featured on this page were created by Andrew Hanenberg, a local photographer who works in tintype using traditional techniques. His work adds a timeless, tactile quality to our story — honoring the spirit of heritage, individuality, and craft that defines CLAY+CODA
