The architectural style got fame in early 20s century Modernism, including the Bauhaus and International movements. Mid-century indeed took hold after World War II. This architectural style is all about art and functionality that is preserved with unending care. When people talk about mid-century modern, the only thing that comes to mind is the inarguable, beautiful, and natural designs.

The architects of that era were very conscious about instilling natural beauty into the houses. Still, people lost interest in this architecture in the 70s because they believed these were just some built houses; there is nothing new about them. However, in the early 90s, this architecture style's interest began to surge into people's hearts, especially those who were born and grown in that era.

People are buying more and more of these houses because of the nostalgic feelings attached to this architectural design. They (Millennials) don't want to let go of their childhood memories. They want to get back the feelings of those days. The days full of enjoyment, innocence, and excitement. The moments where there were no worries about life.

These all attachments attract the millennials toward the mid-century modern. However, the emotions or feelings are not the only factors that are appealing to the millennials. There are some other elements too that contribute to the love of mid-century modern.

Insufficient income

According to some research studies, most millennials are burdened with heavy debt because of their college degree loan. So, graduating from college with a massive debt of around $32,73 prevents them from spending their money on their ancestors' antique pieces.

However, because of the affordability and uniqueness of the mid-century modern, they have the exception for it. Millennials love to spend their money on MCM aesthetics because they can enjoy the same beauty and uniqueness at a cheaper cost.

Iconic Furnitures

Another reason for a stronger bond between millennials and the mid-century modern is this architectural style's beautiful and artistic designs. The architects not only design the tangible spaces such as the windows, walls, or doors of a house, but also have vested interest in the designed space on the whole. From the color scheme to the cabinetry to the chairs, all that in the space falls under the purview of the architect's design.

Elimination of superfluous details

As a matter of fact, generation Y (millennials) is more into natural things such as products made out of organic herbs or any natural material; similarly, when it comes to the houses, they prefer nature's beauty and practicality in the architectural style over any exaggerated artwork. Undoubtedly, this style's uniqueness is that you would never find anything without a purpose because this architectural style aims to eradicate useless things and make the house more spacious.

These all characteristics are somehow related to the millennials; no wonder why they love this architectural design. If they want to enjoy the function over form, they can have it in this design similarly; if they want to have a good time with beauty and antiqueness, this style is the way to go.
